Lost in Translation: Mapping, Loading, and Deleting Data from DCB to MeLCat
Free for all DCB MeLCat library staff
Class Description: If your library uses the DCB server for processing MeLCat requests and you are curious or would like a refresher on how your library's data is loaded into MeLCat, then this is the webinar for you. This webinar will briefly review how bibliographic and item data as well as patron data from DCB participating libraries is translated for MeLCat use through the use of local exports, record loads, and the mapping of local codes to equivalent MeLCat codes. A review of the ongoing maintenance required at the local library to keep the local records and the MeLCat records in sync, through updates and flagging of discards, will also be covered. This webinar is specifically for DCB libraries already live on MeLCat.
