Class Description: Libraries are expanding access in creative and meaningful ways by offering collections that go beyond traditional materials. These “Library of Things” collections enrich the community experience by providing a wide range of items and equipment available for borrowing. This workshop offers a practical approach to planning, launching, and sustaining a Library of Things collection, regardless of your library’s size.
Participants will learn how to select items that reflect community needs, develop clear policies, assess potential liabilities, build realistic budgets, and promote their collection effectively. The session emphasizes starting with the community at the center while ensuring long-term financial and operational sustainability.
